The Hybrid Trader's Edge

You pick the entry.
The system guards the exit.

Plenty of traders can find good entries. Almost none can manage the trade after. When the position is live and the money is real, the rational thing becomes the hardest thing — and that's where accounts die. The Centaur side takes care of the part you were never wired to do.

The Uncomfortable Truth

Most traders never make it.
And it's almost never the entries.

The majority of retail traders blow up their accounts — not because they lack strategy, screen time, or market knowledge, but because once a position is live, they cannot bring themselves to do the rational thing. Good entries don't save you. The trade management is where most are doomed to fail.

The Freeze

The stop that never got placed

You entered with a plan. Price moved fast. You hesitated, hoped, and watched a small loss become the loss that defined your month.

The Spiral

The revenge trade cycle

Three stop-outs in twenty minutes on the same name. Each entry angrier than the last. You know this pattern. Everyone does. Knowing doesn't stop it.

The Giveback

The green day that ended red

Up five thousand by 10am. Flat by noon. Negative by the close. No system existed to tell you when enough was enough — so it never was.

"

Discipline isn't a personality trait you're born with. It's a system you install. The traders who last aren't stronger — they were simply honest enough to admit which decisions they were never good at making, and removed themselves from them.

Why "Centaur"

The strongest player in the world
isn't a human. Or a machine.

HUMAN MACHINE

After the machines beat Kasparov, something unexpected happened. In freestyle chess tournaments — where anything was allowed — the winners weren't the supercomputers, and they weren't the grandmasters. They were centaurs: ordinary humans paired with machines, each doing what the other couldn't.

The human brought intuition, creativity, and judgment. The machine brought discipline, consistency, and immunity to fear. Together they beat both pure calculation and pure instinct — every time.

Trading is the same game. Your read, your entries, your conviction — paired with an exit engine that never hesitates, never revenge trades, and never gives a green day back. That's a centaur. And it outlasts everything else on the field.

A Different Model

The two halves of a centaur:
human entries, machine exits.

Full automation strips away the edge that makes you a trader — your read, your instincts, your entries. Full discretion leaves you exposed to the emotions that end careers. The hybrid model keeps the part you're good at and hands the part you're doomed to fail at over to code.

The Human Half

The Entry

  • What to trade and when to strike
  • Position sizing and conviction level
  • Your read on flow, levels, and momentum
  • Adding to winners on your terms
  • Everything that makes your edge yours
The Machine Half

The Exit

  • Stops placed the instant you're in — no hesitation window
  • Breakeven moves executed without negotiation
  • Profit targets that actually get taken
  • Spread defense that acts in milliseconds, not minutes
  • Hard limits that end the day before you can ruin it
From the Members

In their own words.

I would not be where I am without the hybrid automation. I cannot bring myself to do the rational thing if I am left managing my trades. I get good entries. But the trade management is where I am doomed to fail.

Can I tell you how nice the peace of mind is on writes with this auto. I got locked out yesterday on my 2K max loss — at the time I was frustrated because that's pretty tight. HOWEVER, I was really close to tilting. Probably saved me 10 racks.

systematically removed.

PROTECTION / 01

Instant Stop Arming

The moment your position hits the tape, your stop is live at the broker. The gap between entry and protection — where hesitation lives — no longer exists.

PROTECTION / 02

Spread Defense

Short leg moving against you? The system covers it automatically at your threshold, then manages the long leg to recover premium. No frozen staring at a widening spread.

PROTECTION / 03

Breakeven Automation

Hit your first target and the stop moves to entry — instantly, unemotionally. A winner is never again allowed to become a loser.

PROTECTION / 04

Daily Loss Limit

Your maximum daily loss, enforced by code. Breach it and everything flattens — positions closed, automation paused. The day is over whether your emotions agree or not.

PROTECTION / 05

Profit Lock

Up big? The system sets a floor under your gains that ratchets up as you climb. The green morning that turns into a red afternoon is no longer possible.

PROTECTION / 06

Anti-Overtrading

Consecutive stop-outs on the same name automatically tighten your next stop — cutting the revenge cycle off at the second trade instead of the seventh.

How It Works

Nothing about how you trade changes.
Everything about how you exit does.

Centaur runs quietly alongside DAS Trader Pro on your machine. There's no new platform to learn, no new order entry, no workflow change.

1

Trade in DAS as you always have

Your montage, your hotkeys, your flow. Enter positions exactly the way you do today — the system doesn't touch your entries.

2

The system detects and classifies

Within seconds of your fill, the position is identified — long option, stock, or credit spread — and matched to your pre-configured rules.

3

Protection is armed. Automatically.

Stops at the broker, targets tracked in software, defense logic live. From that moment forward, the exit runs on rules — not feelings.

The Real Goal

Centaurs outlast thoroughbreds.
This is about still being here in ten years.

"Every trader who made it has one thing in common — they survived long enough to get good. Capital protection isn't defense. It's how you buy the time your skill needs to develop."

Whether you're in year one or year twenty, the math is the same: you can't compound skill from a blown account. Centaur exists to lengthen your career by doing the one thing most traders never master — protecting the capital that keeps you in the game. It's never too late to start trading like you plan to be here a while.

Questions

Asked and answered.

Do I have to change how I trade?

No. You trade in DAS Trader Pro exactly as you do today — same montage, same hotkeys, same entries. Centaur watches your positions and manages exits according to rules you configure. Your workflow doesn't change; your outcomes do.

What do I need to run it?

A Windows machine, DAS Trader Pro, and an active account at Sage Trading with CMD API access enabled. The app runs locally on your computer alongside DAS.

What happens if my internet drops or the app crashes?

Your stops live at the broker, not in the app. Once a stop is placed, it remains active on the broker's servers even if your machine loses power entirely. The software layer adds intelligence on top — but the core protection is always broker-side.

Can I override the automation?

Yes — you stay in command. Every position has manual controls to cancel, re-arm, or close. There's also a master pause that silences all automation instantly while leaving your broker stops in place.

Does this guarantee I won't lose money?

No — and be skeptical of anything that claims otherwise. Trading involves substantial risk of loss, and no software can eliminate it. Stops can fill at worse prices in fast markets, gaps happen, and losses are part of trading. What the system does is enforce the risk plan you set, consistently, without emotion.

What data do you collect?

Trade history only — entries, exits, and P&L — used to power your own analytics. Your DAS credentials never leave your machine, and we never collect broker account numbers or personal financial information.

What does it cost?

Access details are provided when you verify your Sage Trading account with our team. Your license remains active for the life of your Sage account.
